Hi Anthony, I am new to the game and have it on ps3. I have a message saying 'keycodes maxed out' I have looked online and worked out how to get them and that they are a type of currency but when tryin to get for example connoisseur lock box it says i have not enough blah blah de blah and im lost from then on lool please could u help a girl in distress?
I don't personally play the game, on any system, so I can't help you from experience, but the page on the Wikia claims that there's a keycode capacity of 50 by default, which can be expanded by 25 from the Defiance store, in exchange for 400 bits.
Hey there! I was just wondering if you'd mind me spiffing up the wikia a bit to show more of the great content this community has to offer for people interested in Defiance! I was thinking maybe a new skin and wordmark and maybe rearranging the main page a bit to showcase both the game side and TV side more visually? I was also wondering if you used the TV and Video Game portals at all? If not, we could just delete them or have them redirect to the appropriate article pages. Let me know what you think about the changes I've suggested!
Hey, Deathdealers747, I hadn't heard back from you so I reached out to Gaarmyvet about the changes to see if he'd be ok with it. He said that if I didn't hear back from you he'd be alright with it, so I put in the changes from my sandbox. Feel free to edit anything that I've done!
Well, obviously, something is wrong (again) with the Wikia communication preferences. I never got a single email about ANY of your posts. I have 60+ websites that I checked my email for daily, but it screws me all up if I never get the email notification.
Oh weird! Have they been getting sent to Spam or you just haven't received anything? If this is something that happens a lot, you can reach out to Special:Contact and someone can help out. Again, hope you're okay with the changes I made. Sorry to hear that you weren't getting notifications of my messages!
OK. So far, I'm finding the following issues that I have with your changes:
1) The background of the website, it used that picture for a year and a half, so that why it was changed to a much more updated picture. I'd like that reverted, to maintain an up-to-date status, while influencing a mixed feel of the game and the TV show, as we support both.
2) The FeaturedMedia. I like the bottom 3 videos, but I don't like the 21 second main video. It sounds way too generic and boring. Simply, take that video out, place the "Making of Defiance" as the main video. Because this community primarily supports the TV Show, as we are severely lacking information about the game.
3) Navigation Menu on Main Page. The buttons are too large, they should probably be somewhere around 100 x 100 px, instead of the 200 x 200 px that you currently have it set at.
3a) The Navigation Menu Icon Pictures. The Votans Icon of Stahma Tarr should probably be replaced by Raiga, a Sensoth. He is a very cool, yet short-scened character, and all of the Sensoths are played by Kevin Shand.
Also, just to inform you ahead of time, but Gaarmyvet really doesn't care about this Wikia at all. I primarily keep him as Admin status for a backup helper, when I'm doing intense tasks during times that I don't have access to the internet, such as, Moving.
No, we used that background, as well. The initial background behind it is still very similar to the other one. The "Tick. Tick. Tick." one is special to Season 2 and wasn't released until June 2014. The background was the best that I could find on Google Images.
As for the new wordmark, I love it, but I didn't realize it was changed until you just mentioned it. Lemme purge the server cache and see if that works. We definitely needed a new one of those to make up for the change of the color layout of the wikia.
My only problem with it is that according to MediaWiki, Wikia is a self-proprietary / self-governing community; thus, anything official should be called a "Wikia" not a "Wiki". For example, Wikispaces is another self-propriety / self-governing community; thus, officially, those individual "Wikis" should be called "Wikispaces".
Love the changes you made, in relation to my remarks, and I'm glad that you changed them.
Thanks for the tips! I'll try to avoid adding unecessary links from now on. I'm still fairly new to the whole Wiki thing, even though I do have a few entries on Mark of the Ninja wiki but I don't think it's very relevant on this one.
Hello, I'm a bureaucrat from PokéFanon. I was wondering if you and your wiki would be interested in becoming allies with our wiki. I would be willing to share templates and general wiki tips with you guys, and we may lend you some views. We are a fanfiction wiki for a video game/TV show obviously, so that makes us the perfect pair.
Well, I don't really see any point to this, so imma have to decline.
1. We're very inactive right now, and "you guys" is mostly me with some minor assistance from the other Admin of this site, while I'm in my process of moving from house-to-house, right now, while a whole bunch of other things are going down. This site won't become active until the Season 2 release on Syfy for the TV Show, which is sometime later this month. This site is primarily run on its TV Show viewers, rather than the Video Game players.
I'm mostly just a caretaker of this wikia, until such time that a fan can be acquired and trusted to be relied upon for the "passing-on" of the caretakership of the Wikia. However, I've created a forum posting for select volunteers that wished to either be a Chat Moderator, Video Game Admin, or TV Show Admin that has been up since January, 2014, in preparation of the Season 2 release coming soon, but no one has responded, due to the fact that no one really cares for this wikia, at the moment.
2. I don't really see how any of your templates or general wiki tips couldn't be found on MediaWiki's home site, as that is what Wikia is run on. I'm very good at aiming for target audiences for specific reasons, but all of those tactics have to be backed up by a fanbase, which is currently inactive, right now.
3. I don't see anything that our Wikias have in common, other than the fact that we support a TV Show/Video Game franchise duo.
Thank you for your offer and consideration of this wikia, but I am going to have to decline for the reasons stated above. Feel free to browse this wikia, anytime, and if you have any further questions or considerations, then feel free to contact me in the same manner!
I was unaware that we had a licensing template, as the licensing concerns lie with Wikia Licensing, not individual Wikia's, but most Wikis/Wikias use MediaWiki and Creative Commons licensing. On top of this, the licensing only applies to US Laws, not International.
Could you be more specific as to which "LIcensing Template" you are speaking of? A link is preffered, towards the specific page that you speak of. Because I just searched our wikia using Special:AllPages, there were no search results.
As for the pictures, like I said before, that is not this specific wikia, that is the Wikia site in general and every other site that uses MediaWiki's formatting.
If you want to find information regarding US Copyright Laws here are a few useful links:
In accordance to US Fair Use Doctrine, under the US Copyright Laws, every image, video, quote, or other source of copyrighted content is subject to fair use under the condition that the author is credited for their work, and that the copyrighted content is not violated, altered, or used in any way that would be deemed as "unfair" to the owner of the original content. Basically, don't write messages on it, don't spam it, and don't attempt to change a few select colors while throwing your name on it. Most importantly, don't sell it.
A wiki counts as a fair use, overall, due to the fact that the wiki/wikia is a dedication towards the education of a development. So, this wikia is a dedication to the development of Defiance (the TV series and the Game).
No summary pages, categories only on the page of the character. There's no reason to have 2 pages per character, just do it on the same page. And, for the record, during our uptime we had over 200 visits per day during Season 1.
I have not watched the past two episodes and probably will not watch any others. Would you like to be elevated to Bureaucrat? I will remain a bureaucrat unless you ask Wikia to "demote" me. (The bureaucrat promoteth but only Wikia demoteth!) Perhaps most importantly, I'll be around if you need help.
You can be Bureaucrat for as long as you want. I haven't seen the most recent episode due to moving this week and then unpacking and settling in the new house next week - so, I'll be behind as well. But, I've been slowly learning how to edit and add items to the Templates, because you had a problem when you added "Ratings" to the templates improperly (typo), then I added "Health" to the CharacterInfobox to allow for the character's current situation - whether it be deceased, comatose, well, recovering from a plague, etc.
I also read about the duties of a bureaucrat on the wikia's main page, so I know a bit of what it's about, but I could always use your help for certain subjects that I may or may not know about, or subjects that I don't know enough about.
Like I said, it's your choice if you want to remain bureaucrat or not, but don't just go around promoting people to Admin. I'd like it if you ran your ideas by me first. Thanks!
Aww, shucks. I'm your first!? Now we'll be together forever! <3 lol! I'll be sure to contact ya if I need any help -- which page should I contact you on, preferred? This wiki's profile of yours or another's?
The preferred way to to indicate the level of spoilers is by means of adding a Header title to the section that has spoilers.
For example, if you view "Pilot"'s page, you can get a very good example where underneath the Synopsis, there are 3 Headings to indicate different levels of spoilers. There's a very basic and rough overview with no spoilers, then there's a Minor Spoiler entry, then there's an extremely detailed spoiler entry. All 3 entries are describing the same thing, but have different levels of spoilers to them, and can be skipped upon selecting a different heading or scrolling down fast enough.
Because he had a previous relationship with Amanda, and so she seemed to of automaticalled vouched for him on some level, without even having to speak. But, I do agree, they are being wayyyyyy too nice to these e-rep people when they're in town, and yet, all they wanna do is kill them and level the town, so they can get their gulanite and whatever else it has to offer.
That, and the Lawkeeper, Nolan, is ticking me off. First, he killed the prisoner without hesistation (which pissed off the e-rep), then, he kills Sukar without hesistation, which pissed off his daughter, Irisa. If he hadn't of killed the prisoner (the dude who made bombs during the pale wars), then the e-rep might've been more lenient to trade the railroad line into the town of Defiance for him. If he hadn't of killed Sukar, then the Irathients might've felt more welcomed into Defiance as a result of him saving the town, again.
There's a time to think and a time not to think, Nolan never thinks - ever. He just shoots away without any thought involved. Hell, he even lost Kenya completely and didn't think about it, just shot away and left, not trying to get involved with her again.
If they get their act straight and stop with this bullshit, then yes, it'll be worth it. Otherwise, most likely not. We need more hardcore action, less subtle-ness, more conspiracy, less friendlyness with our most hated foes (Nikki / E-rep), we need to enforce a railroad line, we need to stop trying to kick out Mayor Amanda from office after only being on the job for 3 freakin weeks -.- OMG! The list goes on!
Thanks for the final touches to polish some of the pages I've created and been heavily editing yesterday and today. There's a lot I don't know how to do yet, like adding categories and tweaking uploaded image files, and I really appreciate it! :)
Go to the bottom-right side and in the line over the box, type in the category you want to add to it.
When you add an image to a page, you can tweak the size ahead of time. 250 pixels is preferred max size. If you forget, then go to "Source" mode, in the top-right corner of the editing box for that page. Then, go to "335px" and change the numbers to "250px."
Thank you! That helps a lot...I wasn't sure how much you could do to an existing image and I didn't know what the best max size for one is. I'll keep it in mind for future edits, as well as how to add categories. Much obliged! :)
